Ways to share an invitation
QR code
A QR code is displayed at the top of the invite screen. Anyone who scans it is taken directly to the join flow for your group. Ideal for in-person situations β show it on a projector, print it, or display it on your screen.
> Mobile only: QR code display is available on mobile.
Invitation code
Tap or click Copy code to copy the short 4-character code. Share it via email, text message, or any other channel. Members enter this code manually on the Join a group screen.
Invitation link
Tap or click Copy link to copy the full join URL. Share it anywhere β email, messaging apps, a website, or a notice board.
When someone opens the link:
- If they have the app installed, it opens directly in the app.
- If not, they are taken to the web app's join page.
Native share sheet
> Mobile only: Tap Share to open the device's share sheet and send the link via any app on your phone.
What happens after someone uses an invitation?
- The person is shown the group name and basic information.
- If not signed in, they are prompted to sign up or log in first. The invitation is saved so the join step continues automatically after login.
- They submit a join request.
- Their membership enters a Pending state until you or another Administrator approves it.
To review and approve requests, go to the Members tab and select the Requests filter. See Manage members and roles.
Invitation code validity
The invitation code stays valid until it is regenerated β there is no automatic expiry. Regenerating the code invalidates all previously shared links and codes.
